Our Beers Regular Beers...

The Duke
4%

Picture

The Duke 4% - Pale Ale.  Named after my dog, Duke, A very simple beer, with biscuit malt, Challenger and Goldings Hops.  This beer has a wonderfully biscuity taste followed through by honey and spice notes from the hops…. Like you are drinking a hobnob.  This one makes you look at the pint glass and wonder where all that flavour comes from…

50 Not Out
4.5%

Picture

50 Not Out - This is a 4.5% Amber; it is what we call a Hampshire Bitter.  It is malty, and bitter, cross between Spitfire, Pride and Doombar, The reason we called it 50 Not Out is because it was my wife’s Uncles 50th wedding anniversary, he loves cricket and he isn’t out yet… this has a healthy dose of Goldings which impart a lovely aromatic spiciness  to the nose and an earthy floral flavour….

Colonel Bob
4%

Picture

Colonel Bob – 4% ABV, Verging onto the bitter side this is a wholesome beer with a lime and papaya aroma, we do not over-hop this beer, we keep it mellow and fruity.  We use Ekuanot in this predominantly, which is an American hop, imparting lime, apple, melon, berry, cedar, papaya, bay leaves, eucalyptus, clove, sage – although you would need the nose of a dog to get all these, you get the idea….

12th Man
3.8%

Picture

12th Man – 3.8% Amber. This is the second in our amber range, taking on a cricketing theme as the team member that serves the drinks.  This is a traditionally floral ale, with a modern mellowness to it, the first pint always seems to disappear… With a healthy, well-balanced amount of Target, Fuggle,, East Kent Goldings and First Gold you get a beer that is enjoyable to drink, and makes busy chatter quieten for a bit as they savour the beer, and take on the Marmalade, Citrus, Spicy, Floral, Honey, Earthy flavors and aromas.

Hastings
3.8%

Picture

Hastings IPA - this is 3.8% pale ale, in this beer we have a mix of Brambling Cross and Ekuanot, so a mix of Blackberry / Hedgerow berries, and stone fruits respectively.... We also use Caramalt to impart a rich caramel flavour to the beer, I have mashed this beer a little higher to give a nice body, it is a really moreish beer.

Our Seasonal / Specials

Penton Porter 6% (Porter)

Dark Destroyer 12.5% (Imperial Stout)

Thinking Man 7.5% (New England IPA)

Lady Saison 5.5% (Saison)

Picture

Penton Porter 6% Porter.  This was the first beer we experimented on, and on its first outing it won first place at a local CAMRA beer festival…. Rich, Chocolaty, malty, with a smoked caramel aftertaste…. Took 4 years to get the recipe right, and my goodness we got it right! Brewed only for Christmas.

Picture

Dark Destroyer 12.5% - Not yet branded, this has only made a few appearances, and will only be available in bottles.  Made with Pecans & Maple syrup, and using a Belgium yeast, this start off with a heady pecan aroma, followed my a velvety maple syrup, dark chocolate gateau pie.. this Stout packs a punch.  Theoretically only served at our brewery bar - once it can open that is!  We might bottle some... keep an eye on Facebook to find out when!

Picture

Thinking Man 7.5% - Not yet branded, made with Citra, Simcoe and Sorachi Ace hops, this is not a shy beer, it shouts Mango, Lemons, Lime, and anything else juicy and fruity,  with a slightly sour finish, BIG mouth feel (Dank, apparently that's the phrase for it.), slightly gassy, extra smooth, seriously crushable..... this will only be served from the brewery bar (when it opens!) because we don't dare let it out of our sight, "Many of these beers have been made, only this one cuts the grade"...

Picture

Lady Saison 5.5% - Best served extra cold, this super sparkling, extra refreshing beer finishes sour.  We use Lemondrop, Cascade and Saaz to create a Lemon, Grapefruit and floral taste and aroma... ideal for summertime in the garden.

William Henry Green 3.9%
(White Horse Thruxton)

Ham 1840 4.2%
(Crown and Anchor Ham)

Six Wives 3.8%
(The Mitre Hotel Hampton Court)
